Return to Timbertop Summit Loop details.

6km (moderate – challenging)
Time on track – approximately 2 hours 30 minutes including breaks

Meet at the Merrijig High Country Hotel car park at 8:15am for an 9:00am departure for morning hikes, and at 1:15pm for a 2:00pm departure for afternoon hikes.

After a short briefing session, travel approximately 20 minutes, mostly on an unsealed road, to the start of the track.

Hike along a well maintained track with a steady gradient.                                                                                          From around mid November to mid January, Mt Timbertop is a wildflower heaven.                                                  The first half of the track is through a forest of tall Manna Gum trees with abundant wildlife, which you will hear more than see in the dense bush. The track continues to wind its way up through the forest to an open area that offers views of the mountains to the South and valleys to the West.                                                                                A short rock scramble will pop you up on the summit of Mt Timbertop where you can enjoy a snack while feasting on the views.                                                                                                                                                          After looping around the summit, you will retrace your steps back to where you started.

Morning tours will return to Merrijig around 12:30pm and afternoon tours will return around 5:30pm.
