See Day 1 and Day 2 for more details. Return to Winter Escape to Craig’s details.

Day 3 – approximately 10.70km (challenging – hard)                                                                                                    Time on track – approximately 7 hours including breaks

Your last day of this winter hiking adventure will start with a breakfast at Craig’s Hut, and what a brilliant way to start the day.                                                                                                                                                                            You will retrace your steps back to Mt Stirling, seeing the area you travelled through the day before from a different perspective.                                                                                                                                                                  A hike up to Mt Stirling summit will provide you with breathtaking 360 degree views. You can even enjoy lunch at the summit if the weather is fine.                                                                                                                                      From the summit, it’s downhill all the way back to where you started on day one. You will pass another refuge hut, where you can have lunch if the weather is not suitable to have lunch at the summit.                                                As you drop in elevation, watch as the Snow Gums give way to tall Alpine Ash. That’s a sign that you are getting closer to the end of your winter snowshoe hiking adventure.                                                                                          We hope that you enjoy this once in a lifetime hiking experience as much as we do.
