Brief – Day 2
Day 2 – approximately 5.8km (challenging – hard)
Time on track – approximately 8 hours including breaks
Today is another challenging, but a very exciting day on the track.
With breakfast done and camp packed it’s straight up and up to The Crosscut Saw. Some steep sections and a rock scramble will pop you up on a ridge with breathtaking 360° views. A short break here is a great opportunity to enjoy views for miles and to snap a few picks.
Heading over The Crosscut Saw can be a little bit daunting due to the narrow track and a steep drop to one side. Take your time, watch your step, keep your mind on the job and most importantly, enjoy the beauty that surrounds you.
Today’s lunch spot is amongst mysterious Snow Gums with stunning views. Yet again another amazing location in the Victorian High Country.
After lunch, a steep rocky track downhill and an uphill climb with more rock scrambles will take you to your next camp site.
Camping on top of one of the high country peaks is nothing short of spectacular. These 360° views will truly take your breath away. Settle down by your tent at the end of an amazing day, with a cup of tea, and allow Mother Nature entertain you with her creations.
