Enjoy a guided walk along nice trails that wind through the beautiful Mt Stirling Alpine Resort. During late spring, summer and autumn, these trails are great for hiking and in winter they transform into snow covered cross country ski trails. There are many trails scattered around Mt Stirling and on this hike, you will make a slow ascent along one of them to Razorback Hut. Razorback Hut was, until recent times, still used by local mountain cattlemen. Nowadays, it’s a popular destination for hikers, horse riders, 4 wheel drivers and cross country skiers. A short break at the hut, will give you an opportunity to enjoy a light snack, tea, coffee and juice while exploring the hut and its surrounds at your leisure, before moving on to the next part of the hike, where you will pass a pretty billabong, perfect for practising your landscape photography. Surrounded by towering Alpine Ash and lush ferns you will enjoy slowly ambling back towards Telephone Box Junction along another beautiful Mt Stirling trail. This hike is suitable for families with children, we recommend from 9 years up. Bring some of their favourite snacks to charge them up during the hike. It’s not a difficult hike, but too long for children younger than 9 years.
