Day 2 – 5.8km (challenging – hard)
Time on track – approximately 8 hours including stops and breaks

Today is another challenging and exciting day.

After breakfast, we will pack up camp and set off at 8:00am. From the camp site, we will head straight up to The Crosscut Saw. Your backpack will make this section more challenging as you scramble up rocks. It’s a fun, exciting part of the track. Once we reach the ridge line, an amazing view to the East will open up before you.                                                                                                                                                                                          A short break will provide an opportunity to enjoy the view and take some wonderful pics before setting off across The Crosscut Saw. The track runs along the East side of the mountain with a couple of tricky, but not difficult sections. Having good balance will help you enjoy this part of the hike even more.

The next stop is Mt Buggary, a bit of a bugger to get up to, but the perfect spot for lunch. From here you will enjoy views in all directions.

The next part of the hike is down a steep rocky track, than over a saddle and up steep sections and rock scrambles to top of Mt Speculation and our next camp site. The views from here are just incredible and the effort you put in to get to this point will be well worth it.                                                                                        There will be no time to waste setting up camp and organising dinner, because once the sun starts going down, you will want to sit back, relax and enjoy one of Mother Nature’s shows.                                                      Mt Speculation is remote and peaceful, and can only be reached on foot.

This day is full of ascents and descents, some are steep, some are rocky and some are tricky. It will get your muscles working and your heart pumping. You will feast on breathtaking views and simply have an amazing day.
